Based on 1,555 reviewsRistorante pizzeria Da Salvi in Grindelwald is widely praised for its authentic Italian cuisine, particularly its handmade pizzas and flavorful pasta dishes. Reviewers commonly highlight the quality and freshness of ingredients, with standout items including seafood offerings like calamari and unique options such as gluten-free pizzas and grilled meats. The restaurant is noted for its warm, welcoming atmosphere and attentive service, often described as familial and accommodating to diverse groups and dietary needs. Guests appreciate the cozy setting after outdoor activities, emphasizing consistent satisfaction with both food and hospitality. While some mention similarities in pizza flavors, overall feedback reflects a strong appreciation for the balanced, well-seasoned dishes and generous portions served in a charming Swiss locale.
Our group of eight was treated like family at this restaurant. They were delighted to have a group from the US and brought us several items that we didn’t order as they wanted us to try them. We were treated as if we were guests in someone’s home. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal (ages 11 to retirement). Excellent meal and service in the charming Swiss town of Grindelwald.
Great dinner spot after a day of hiking. Try the mushrooms straight from Mario World! We also had the lamb and gluten free pizza (wife is GF) and it was delicious. Much better than other places we have tried nearby during our stay. The service was great as well, even as last minute walk ins.
They serve excellent Italian food — both pasta and pizza were delicious. We also tried the half grilled chicken and fried octopus, which were fantastic. In my opinion, this might be the best Italian restaurant in Grindelwald! The Spaghetti aglio e peperoncino mit Knoblauch & Peperoncini was perfectly seasoned, simple yet full of flavor — we loved it so much that we came back again the next night. Prices are quite reasonable compared to other mountain restaurants in Grindelwald or Zermatt. The staff were very friendly. On our last day, a waitress warmly recommended sights in Lucerne and the summer toboggan, then even treated us to tiramisu and limoncello — we were truly grateful. As for flies, yes, they exist — but this has nothing to do with the restaurant’s hygiene. You’ll find wild flies and wasps around in most restaurants in Grindelwald, or even in Swiss and German countryside homes. Just wave them away; they’re harmless. Remember, we’re the ones entering their natural habitat, not them disturbing us. My sincere advice — if you’re used to city life and want a spotless, bug-free environment, then just stay in your clean house. Don’t come up to the mountains and complain about nature.
Food was pretty good, the pizzas are definitely hand made, taste wise the two flavours that we got tasted pretty similar. Probably because its tomato based. The calamari is a must order as well. Its cooked well and still crispy. Portions are good as well
